Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced that all educational institutions across the province will reopen from April 1 with classes held five days a week.
He said the government has rejected the proposal to introduce a hybrid system or limit classes to three or four days, confirming that academic activities will continue on a five-day schedule.
Rana Sikandar Hayat said authorities are monitoring 246 matric examination centers through CCTV cameras to ensure transparency. He added that the government is revising the academic calendar to give students appearing in next year’s exams more preparation time.
He said authorities have distributed 70 percent of free textbooks across districts, while the remaining supply will be completed soon. Separately, the minister visited examination centers along with Adviser to the Chief Minister on Examinations Muzammil Mahmood.
Muzammil Mahmood said authorities are using QR codes and biometric systems to verify candidates. He advised students to focus on their performance and knowledge instead of presentation, stating that marks are awarded based on understanding.
