The Multan district administration has approved five temporary cattle sale points across the city and surrounding areas ahead of Eid ul Adha.
According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Nauman Siddique, cattle markets will be established in Fatima Jinnah Town, Jaiswant Garh, Shujaabad, and Jalalpur Pirwala. The approved locations also include separate cattle and camel markets at Jaiswant Garh.
In Shujaabad, a temporary cattle market will be set up near the Saleem Shah Petroleum Centre, while in Jalalpur Pirwala the market will operate on Multan Road opposite the Virtual University.
The deputy commissioner directed relevant departments to ensure cleanliness, security arrangements, traffic management, and the provision of basic facilities at all approved markets. Authorities have been instructed to ensure the availability of clean drinking water, lighting, drainage, and other essential services for traders and visitors.
The district administration has also decided to launch a crackdown against illegal cattle markets and unauthorized sale points across the district. Assistant commissioners, Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) officials, and other departments have been directed to take immediate action against violations.
Deputy Commissioner Nauman Siddique said providing organized, secure, and properly managed cattle markets for citizens remains the administration’s top priority.
