Shahid Afridi Extends Support to Former Afghanistan Pacer

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi expressed concern and support after learning about the critical health condition of former Afghanistan pacer Shapoor Zadran.

Reports confirmed Zadran is in intensive care following a serious medical complication, with doctors describing his condition as extremely serious and highlighting crucial survival periods.

Family members appealed for prayers and support through social media, updating followers about his treatment and emphasizing the seriousness of his ongoing medical situation.

Shapoor Zadran represented Afghanistan in 44 ODIs, taking 43 wickets, and played 36 T20Is, claiming 37 wickets during his international cricket career.

He also featured in franchise cricket, including the Bangladesh Premier League, where he took 10 wickets in eight matches, showcasing his left-arm pace bowling skills.

Zadran retired in 2025 after more than a decade in international cricket, contributing significantly to the rise of Afghanistan and participating in three ICC T20 World Cups.

He played a key role in Afghanistan’s first ICC Cricket World Cup victory in 2015, scoring the winning runs against Scotland in Dunedin.
