Detailed Report
YouTube is rolling out a new feature that allows mobile users to disable Shorts entirely on iOS and Android devices.
The update expands YouTube’s existing time-management tools, which previously allowed users to set daily limits on Shorts viewing.
With the latest change, YouTube has added a new 0-minute option to the Shorts Feed limit timer. Earlier versions only allowed a minimum setting of 15 minutes.
Selecting the new option effectively blocks access to Shorts on mobile.
Users can find the Shorts Feed limit timer under the Time Management section in the YouTube app settings.
Once enabled, tapping the Shorts tab will display a “time limit reached” message, preventing access to the feed.
The feature is designed for users who want stronger control over scrolling habits and screen time, particularly those looking to avoid endless short-form video browsing.
The update is currently rolling out to YouTube mobile users on both iOS and Android.
