PSL 2026: Peshawar Zalmi Seal Dramatic Win in High-Scoring Clash

Peshawar Zalmi completed a successful chase of 215 runs, defeating Rawalpindi Pindiz by five wickets with five balls remaining at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Zalmi reached 218 for five in 19.1 overs, recording one of the highest successful run chases in Pakistan Super League (PSL) history during a high-scoring encounter.

Rawalpindi Pindiz posted 214 for four in 20 overs after electing to bat, setting a challenging target with consistent scoring and strong partnerships throughout innings.

Yasir Khan top-scored with 83 runs off 46 balls, striking seven fours and six sixes, providing a dominant foundation for the innings .

Captain Mohammad Rizwan contributed 41 runs, sharing a 125-run opening partnership that marked the highest stand of the innings and ensured early momentum.

Kamran Ghulam added 37 runs from 20 deliveries, while Daryl Mitchell finished with 23 runs, pushing the total beyond the 200-run mark for the newly added franchise.

The Babar Azam-led side began the chase aggressively, with Mohammad Haris scoring 47 runs off 28 balls and setting the pace during the powerplay overs.

Captain Babar Azam scored 39 runs, helping the former champions reach 75 without loss before his dismissal, maintaining the required run rate early in the chase.

Kusal Mendis contributed 31 runs, but wickets fell regularly during the middle overs, briefly slowing the scoring rate and increasing pressure.

Michael Bracewell played a crucial innings of 35 runs from 17 balls, stabilising the chase and keeping Peshawar Zalmi within reach of the target.

Abdul Samad struck 33 runs off just 11 deliveries, hitting four sixes, accelerating the scoring rate significantly during the closing overs.

Aamer Jamal finished unbeaten on 13 runs from just four balls, hitting a six and a boundary in a decisive over against star pacer Naseem Shah.

Peshawar Zalmi required 40 runs from the final three overs, achieving the target with an over remaining, marking a significant late-innings turnaround.

The third match of the season produced a combined total of 432 runs, making it one of the highest aggregate matches recorded in Pakistan Super League fixtures.
