NED University Announces Admissions Schedule for 2026-27

NED University of Engineering and Technology has increased its admission capacity by 140 seats for the 2026–27 academic year.
According to a statement issued by the university, the total number of seats will increase from 3,016 to 3,156. Admissions will open on March 30, with the online portal remaining available for applications until May 29. Registrar Dr Ghazanfar Hussain said the entry test will be conducted in two phases, with the first phase scheduled from June 4 to June 7 and the second phase expected in the first week of July.
He said candidates must secure at least 50 percent marks to pass the test, while merit will be determined with a 60 percent weightage for the entry test and 40 percent for first-year intermediate results. The university has also reduced five self-finance seats, bringing the total down from 164 to 159, and shifted them to the merit category.
The finance committee has proposed an increase of around 10 percent in fees, with the semester fee likely to rise from Rs. 51,930 to Rs. 57,000. Students will be required to pay around Rs. 123,000 at the start of the first semester, including admission and other charges, while the admission fee has been proposed to increase from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 28,000.
Self-finance fees have also been revised, with local self-finance increasing from Rs. 855,000 to Rs. 890,000 and sponsored self-finance from Rs. 1,065,000 to Rs. 1,100,000. Registrar Dr Ghazanfar Hussain said seats have been increased across various categories, including Karachi Board, A-Level, Aga Khan Board, minority quota and different regional allocations.
He added that two new programs, BS English and BS Management Sciences, will be introduced at the Thar campus.
