Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah has addressed a controversial post that appeared on his official social media account about Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, saying it was not posted by him.
The incident took place during the opening match of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) at Gaddafi Stadium.
Maryam Nawaz attended the match as the guest of honor for the game between defending champions Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen.
During the event, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi welcomed her and introduced her to franchise owners. She also shared her best wishes with all teams and met players from both sides before the start of the match.
Soon after, a post from Naseem Shah’s account on X gained widespread attention. The post quoted a PCB media tweet showing Chairman Naqvi greeting Maryam Nawaz.
The now-deleted message read: “Why is she treated like the queen at Lords?”
The post quickly spread across social media, sparking debate and mixed reactions among fans and within the cricket community.
Naseem Shah later clarified that the post was not made by him. He stated that his account had been hacked and has now been recovered.
“This account of Naseem was recently hacked but now recovered successfully,” he said, explaining that the message was the result of a security breach.
