PIA Flight 178 Diverted to Karachi After Cabin Pressure Snag

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight 178 safely landed in Karachi today. The flight originally took off from Fujairah. Its intended destination was Lahore. However, the crew diverted the aircraft to Karachi following a technical issue.

During the journey, the aircraft experienced a snag. This specific snag is related to cabin pressurization. Consequently, the crew followed standard safety procedures. They deliberately reduced the aircraft’s altitude to 10,000 feet.

Fortunately, the PIA Flight 178 is safe and sound. The official PIA account (@Official_PIA) confirmed this incident today, March 17, 2026, on X at 10:15 PM. Currently, a team of engineers is working diligently on the ground. They aim to remove the fault completely. Furthermore, once they repair the aircraft, the airline will dispatch the flight to its original destination in Lahore shortly.
