Detailed Report
NexGen Auto, a subsidiary of the Nishat Group, may be preparing to introduce the Jaecoo J8 plug-in hybrid SUV in Pakistan after the vehicle was recently spotted in the country. The company has not yet issued any official confirmation about the launch.
The Jaecoo brand operates under China’s Chery Group. The J8 PHEV shares its platform and plug-in hybrid system with the Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV, as both vehicles are built on Chery’s T1X platform and use a similar hybrid powertrain.

Internationally, the Jaecoo J8 first appeared in markets such as Australia and Malaysia in 2025 with a petrol turbo engine. The plug-in hybrid variant is now being introduced in several other markets. It is currently available in Indonesia and has also been unveiled or opened for booking in countries including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Europe and Australia.
The Jaecoo J8 PHEV is positioned as a large seven-seat SUV with a 2+3+2 seating layout. It measures about 4,820 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width and 1,710 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm.
International specifications indicate that the vehicle uses a 1.5-litre turbo plug-in hybrid powertrain paired with a multi-motor setup and a hybrid transmission. The system produces around 530 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque and is paired with an all-wheel-drive system.
If introduced in Pakistan, the Jaecoo J8 PHEV would likely compete in the premium hybrid SUV segment. Its closest competitor in the local market would be the Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV, which currently has an ex-factory price of around Rs. 1.37 crore.
