Apple Raises Foldable iPhone Display Demand Ahead of Launch

Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone is expected to use a Samsung Display panel, with the supplier reportedly setting up a dedicated production line to meet demand from Cupertino.

Earlier estimates suggested Samsung planned to produce around 15 million units of its creaseless folding display. However, a new report from South Korea indicates that the target has now increased to 20 million units.

Supply chain sources said Apple has raised its order volume by about 33%, signaling expectations of strong demand for its first foldable device despite a rumored starting price of $2,000.

Samsung is expected to begin mass production of the displays in May. The foldable iPhone, currently referred to as the iPhone Fold, is expected to launch in the fall alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.

The reported order increase applies to the initial batch, with Apple likely to place additional orders depending on demand.
