Samsung Wide Foldable Leak Points to Tablet Style Design

Samsung’s rumored wide-screen foldable smartphone has appeared in a new leak that reveals several hardware details, including the display size, processor, and battery capacity.

The information comes from tipster Digital Chat Station, who shared the specifications of the upcoming device.

According to the leak, the foldable will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.

This would place the device in the same performance category as Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8.

The device is expected to include a dual-cell battery with a typical capacity of around 4,800mAh.

The leak breaks the battery into two cells rated at 2,267mAh and 2,393mAh, giving a combined minimum capacity of about 4,660mAh.

Dual cell battery systems are common in foldable devices because they allow manufacturers to distribute the battery across both halves of the phone.

The foldable is said to feature a 7.6-inch inner display, which is the same size as the main display used on Samsung’s current Galaxy Z Fold models.

However, the key difference is expected to be the aspect ratio. The device may use a shorter and wider design, producing a 4:3 tablet-style layout when unfolded.

A wider outer screen could make typing and messaging more comfortable, while the inner display may offer a more natural experience for reading or watching videos.

The leak also suggests that the device will launch in Samsung’s domestic market, indicating that the company plans to release it at least in its home region.

More broadly, the report hints that Samsung and Apple could lead the international wide foldable market, while Huawei and other domestic brands may compete more aggressively in China.

Earlier reports suggest Samsung is experimenting with multiple foldable designs instead of replacing its current Galaxy Z Fold series.

The wide foldable could become an additional option alongside the company’s existing tall foldable design.

While these details remain unconfirmed, the steady stream of leaks suggests Samsung’s wide foldable concept may be moving closer to an official release.
