Detailed Report
The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police (CTP) has introduced special arrangements to manage the expected increase in traffic during the final ten days of the holy month of Ramazan.
According to a CTP spokesperson, the measures were implemented at the direction of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam to ensure smoother traffic movement during the busy shopping period.
Under the plan, additional traffic personnel have been deployed on key roads, commercial markets, and bazaars across the city. Office staff are also being deployed in field duties in shifts until Eid to help maintain traffic flow and provide greater convenience to road users.
CTO Farhan Aslam said the last ten days of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak usually see a significant rise in the number of shoppers visiting markets.
“During the last ten days of Ramazan, there is an unusual surge of shoppers in markets. Office staff have been assigned to field duty so that road users, particularly buyers, can move with ease,” he said.
He added that more than 800 traffic officers and personnel are performing 24-hour duty across Rawalpindi to maintain order on the roads.
According to the CTO, traffic wardens are managing traffic on major roads with the cooperation of citizens, while special squads remain active to prevent accidents, one-wheeling, and illegal parking.
The CTO also urged residents to follow traffic rules, cooperate with traffic personnel, and avoid parking in prohibited areas while shopping to help ensure smooth movement for all road users.
