Detailed Report
The Pakistan Airport Authority on Sunday said flight operations at Islamabad International Airport will be suspended for two hours on March 17 instead of March 16.
According to the authority, arrival and departure operations at the airport will remain closed from 08:30am to 10:30am PST due to operational reasons.
Earlier in the day, the aviation authority cancelled its previous notice to airmen announcing a temporary suspension of flight operations at Islamabad airport during the same two-hour window on March 16.
In a statement posted on X, the authority said the earlier notice regarding temporary airspace restrictions in the Lahore flight information region had been withdrawn.
Update: The earlier NOTAM regarding temporary airspace restrictions in the Lahore Flight Information Region and suspension of flight operations at Islamabad International Airport on 16 March (08:30 – 10:30 AM PKT) has been cancelled. Normal operations will continue.

The statement also clarified that normal flight operations would continue following the cancellation of the earlier notice covering March 16.
In a later notice to airmen, the authority confirmed that the suspension would instead apply on March 17 during the same morning time period.
Officials again cited operational reasons for the restriction and advised incoming aircraft to carry sufficient holding fuel to manage possible delays.
The authority also specified that certain air traffic service route segments within the Lahore Flight Information Region would remain unavailable from ground level up to flight level 210.
The route segments affected and other operational specifications remained unchanged from the earlier notice issued for March 16.
Earlier this month, shortly after the start of the Iran–Israel conflict escalation 2026, the authority said Pakistan’s airspace remained fully open, safe, and available for all civil aviation traffic.
