Detailed Report
The Ministry of Interior, Pakistan, has revised the visa issuance procedure for foreign nationals in light of the changing security situation in the region.
According to official sources, the ministry has withdrawn the facility of on-arrival and prior-to-arrival visas, meaning foreigners will now have to obtain Pakistani visas through relevant embassies and diplomatic missions.
Under the new policy, all Pakistani visas will be issued exclusively by Pakistani embassies and diplomatic missions abroad.
Sources in the Ministry of Interior, Pakistan, said the decision was taken due to security concerns and aims to strengthen the visa verification process.
Applicants can still submit visa applications through the existing online portal. However, once an application is received online, the case will be forwarded to the relevant Pakistani embassy for clearance.
Only after approval from the concerned embassy will the visa be issued.
Officials said the entire visa processing system will now operate through diplomatic channels, ensuring stricter scrutiny of applications before entry into Pakistan.
