Detailed Report
Almost a year after Ferrari revealed its successor to the beautiful Roma, the Prancing Horse brand has now chopped the roof off the Amalfi. The new Ferrari Amalfi Spider, which arrives for the 2027 model year, preserves the two-door's sleek styling and potent powertrain but introduces a soft-top convertible roof.
The Amalfi Spider looks nearly identical to the coupe from the beltline down, and that's no bad thing. The bodywork is smooth and curvy, giving the Amalfi a muscular yet elegant look that is complemented by the new stowable soft-top. The roof opens in 13.5 seconds and can be deployed or retracted at speeds of up to 37 mph. Ferrari says that when folded, the roof is just 8.7 inches thick, allowing Ferrari to preserve 6.1 cubic feet of trunk space with the top down. With the roof in place, there are 9.0 cubic feet of room.

Ferrari claims that a five-layer fabric design means that the soft-top's soundproofing and heat insulation are similar to those of the brand's retractable hard-top roofs. The roof is available in six different colors, with optional contrast stitching to add a little extra visual pizzazz. There are also two different fabric choices, a "tailor-made" variant with four color choices and a "technical" look with two color choices that features a weave pattern that Ferrari says creates a "shimmering effect." The Amalfi Spider also brings a new paint hue called Rosso Tramonto, the sun-dried-tomato-like color seen here.
The Amalfi Spider is powered by the same twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V-8 as the coupe, producing 631 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. That muscle is routed through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox to the rear wheels, and the Amalfi Spider also features magnetorheological adaptive dampers and Ferrari's new brake-by-wire system. Ferrari claims a dry curb weight of 3430 pounds for the Amalfi Spider, nearly 200 pounds more than the listed weight for the coupe. The Spider can scoot to 62 mph in a claimed 3.3 seconds, the same as the coupe, and both variants share a 199-mph top speed.
The interior is identical too, with the central 10.3-inch touchscreen augmented by a 15.6-inch digital gauge cluster and a narrow 8.8-inch display in front of the passenger. The steering wheel has returned to physical buttons and dials after Ferrari's foray into haptic controls, and the small rear seats remain, although, like in the coupe, they're probably best suited to bags and not adult humans. The only major change is a wind deflector integrated into the rear bench backrest that can rise at the touch of a button at speeds of up to 106 mph to minimize turbulence when the roof is stowed.
There's no word yet on pricing or when sales of the Amalfi Spider will kick off in the United States, but we expect it to reach our shores before the end of the year. While the coupe starts at $266,810, the Spider will likely ring in closer to the $300,000 mark.
