Detailed Report
BMW released a lone teaser image of the 2027 7-series luxury sedan, which is scheduled for a facelift in its next model year. The automaker posted a shadowy picture showing the sedan's headlights and illuminated grille shining out of the darkness to its official Instagram account.
The full-size luxury sedan isn't expected to receive a brand-new generation, but rather it is getting a mid-cycle refresh for the G70 generation that launched in 2023. At the moment, the only thing we can say for certain is that the 7-series is getting a redesigned front end. The split-look headlights are sticking around and appear to take on an even sleeker appearance than before. The kidney grille is, of course, back again and adds illumination around its border.

Along with the updated exterior styling, we expect BMW's flagship sedan to get a host of new technology to keep up with the Joneses. Rumors suggest that the 7-series will add BMW's Panoramic iDrive system, which uses a dash-spanning panoramic display in conjunction with a central touchscreen. The system also offers access to an optional 3-D head-up display.
Unfortunately, the teaser image raises more questions than answers. That said, we shouldn't have to wait long for the full reveal, which we expect to take place as soon as next month.
