Detailed Report
Pakistani cricketer Salman Mirza has sent a legal notice to a television journalist after allegations surfaced accusing him of harassing a female hotel staff member during the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
The left-arm pacer sent a legal notice to a private television channel and its journalist over the allegations, his legal team announced in a statement shared on social media.

It is pertinent to mention that the journalist alleged on 5 March that Mirza harassed a female hotel staff member at a hotel in Kandy during the recently concluded mega event.
The report claimed that, following a complaint by the hotel administration, team management conducted an initial inquiry and imposed a fine on the fast bowler.
After the allegations surfaced, Salman Mirza said he planned to pursue legal action against a local news outlet after it broadcast what he described as absurd misconduct claims.
In a Facebook post, Mirza strongly condemned what he called baseless and absurd allegations, saying no media organisation had the right to broadcast unverified claims about national players.
He added that the Pakistan Cricket Board had already rejected the report as fake news, while confirming that he would pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading it.
A absurd News is circulating on media and I strongly condemn this Cheap Journalism@TheRealPCB has already denied this Baseless & Fake News and i'm going to take Legal Action against #ShahidHashmi (Journalist) who works for @ARYNEWSOFFICIAL for this sort of Filthy reporting!

The PCB had also condemned what it described as agenda-driven fake news targeting its players, warning that circulating unverified allegations in media reports was unacceptable and would not be tolerated.
The statement followed reports in several Indian media outlets claiming that an unnamed member of the Pakistan squad misbehaved with a female housekeeper at a hotel before a Super Eight match in Kandy.
A similar allegation was also broadcast by ARY News, which claimed the player involved was Salman Mirza, although the television channel later removed the report from its platforms.
The PCB statement, however, did not refer to any specific report or allegation but stressed that character attacks against national players through fabricated stories were unacceptable and damaging.
Agenda driven fake news targeting the character of our players is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. The reporter must publicly apologize without delay; failing which, the PCB will take all necessary steps to ensure such malicious conduct is dealt with firmly and nipped in…
