Pakistan Refinery Limited (PSX: PRL) has appointed Mohsin Ali Mangi as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for a three-year term starting April 30, 2026.
In a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the refinery said its board approved the appointment in place of Zafar Ul Islam Usmani, who is currently serving as interim MD and CEO.
The appointment follows the departure of former chief executive Zahid Mir, who stepped down from the position in September. Mangi brings more than 24 years of local and international experience across the energy, petrochemicals and finance sectors. During his career, he has held senior roles including chief strategy and technology officer, chief operating officer and chief financial officer.
He has previously worked with organizations including Pakistan State Oil, Engro Fertilizers Limited, Engro Vopak Terminal Limited, Engro Polymer and Chemicals Limited and Credit Suisse.
He has also served as chief operating officer for joint ventures with the International Finance Corporation and Royal Dutch Vopak related to Pakistan’s LNG infrastructure projects.
Mangi currently serves on the PRL board and heads the board committee overseeing the company’s refinery expansion project. He has previously served on the boards of Engro Powergen and Engro Polymer Trading Limited.
