Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Arrives With Specs That | Quik

Xiaomi has launched the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in China, just hours after Qualcomm introduced its latest flagship processors.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro is the first commercially available smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is the first to use the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.

Both phones also bring larger batteries, updated telephoto cameras, hardware-level privacy displays, and upgraded rear screens with new AI features.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro features a 6.4-inch LTPO AMOLED display, while the 18 Pro Max has a larger 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED panel.

Both displays offer 2K resolution, a variable 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness. Xiaomi protects the screens with Dragon Crystal Glass 3.

The phones also introduce hardware-level privacy displays designed to prevent people from viewing screen content from an angle.

The privacy feature supports location-based activation and can block notifications, floating windows, and split-screen app content from side viewing. Users can access it through the dedicated AI button on the left side.

Both models retain the rear display found on their predecessors, but Xiaomi has expanded its functionality.

Users can now create rear-screen mini apps through the Xiao AI assistant. Xiaomi demonstrated apps for drinking-water reminders, egg cooking timers, and recipe recommendations.

The rear display can also show custom AI wallpapers and widgets, provide access to Xiao AI, and work as a viewfinder for the rear cameras.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max come in black, white, pink, and blue. Xiaomi is also offering a special red edition with transparent elements on the rear panel.

Both phones have an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro uses Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, making it the first phone on the market with the chipset.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.

Both smartphones run Xiaomi HyperOS 4.

Both models are available in 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB configurations. Xiaomi also offers a 16GB/1TB Special Edition of both phones.

Both phones feature the same triple rear-camera system.

The main camera uses a 200MP Light Hunter 960 sensor with a 1/1.28-inch sensor size and a 23mm-equivalent focal length.

A second 200MP periscope telephoto camera uses a 1/1.56-inch sensor and a 75mm-equivalent focal length. It provides 3.2x optical zoom.

The third camera is a 50MP ultrawide with a 102-degree field of view.

Users can also use the rear display as a viewfinder when taking photos with the rear cameras.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro has a 7,000mAh battery, which is 11% larger than the battery in its predecessor.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max packs an 8,500mAh battery, representing a 13% increase over the previous model.

Both phones support 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 27W reverse wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro costs $895 for 12GB/256GB, $1,045 for 12GB/512GB, $1,193 for 16GB/512GB, and $1,343 for 16GB/1TB. The 16GB/1TB Special Edition costs $1,492.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max costs $1,045 for 12GB/256GB, $1,193 for 12GB/512GB, $1,343 for 16GB/512GB, and $1,492 for 16GB/1TB. Its 16GB/1TB Special Edition costs $1,642.

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 18 Pro series will launch globally later this year.
