Detailed Report
Heavy rain and severe storms across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) tripped 159 electricity feeders, cutting power supply to large parts of five distribution circles in the province.
The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) confirmed that all five of its operational circles reported feeder faults caused directly by the deteriorating weather conditions overnight.
PESCO teams were deployed immediately after the outages were recorded, with restoration work monitored live and continuously from the company’s central control room in Peshawar.
PESCO Chief Akhtar Hamid Khan placed all operational teams on high alert and ordered them to begin emergency repairs across the affected distribution circles without delay.
Under the chief’s directive, all necessary repair equipment was distributed to field teams ahead of the restoration effort, to speed up the return of electricity supply to affected areas.
Field staff were also instructed to exercise special caution while working in rain conditions and to ensure that all required safety measures were strictly followed throughout operations.
