Karachi Traffic Police have issued a traffic diversion plan due to the construction of a flyover at Azeempura Interchange.
According to the traffic police, vehicles coming from Singer Chowrangi and Korangi towards Shahrah-e-Faisal will be diverted from Shahrah Bhutto Interchange and sent towards Defence.
Rita Plot Chowk will remain completely closed for traffic from all four sides.
Traffic coming from the airport and Shahrah-e-Faisal will be turned back from 2 Number Chowrangi in Shah Faisal. This traffic will be able to move towards Defence through EBM Causeway or Baloch Colony.
Traffic police officials advised citizens using Shahrah-e-Faisal to use EBM Causeway and Shaheed-e-Millat Expressway for travelling towards Defence and Korangi.
Traffic going from the airport to Korangi through Shahrah-e-Faisal will be diverted via Quaidabad and Korangi. Motorists will not be able to reach Korangi through Shah Faisal Colony.
Traffic coming from Defence and Korangi towards the airport will be diverted towards Malir immediately after exiting Shahrah Bhutto. From there, motorists will be able to return to Shahrah-e-Faisal and the airport through Malir Mandir Road.
The traffic police also said rickshaws, motorcycles and loader vehicles are completely banned on Shahrah Bhutto. However, all other vehicles are allowed to use the route.
Officials requested citizens to use Shahrah-e-Faisal and alternative routes to avoid inconvenience. They also urged motorists to cooperate with traffic staff.
Citizens have been advised to contact the traffic helpline 1915 for guidance on alternative routes.
