Saira Mirza Joins Zong 5G as Deputy Director of Corporate Brand and Communications

Zong 5G appointed Saira Mirza as Deputy Director of Corporate Brand, Communications and Sustainability, bringing over 16 years of telecom and financial services expertise to Pakistan’s leading 5G operator. The appointment positions Mirza to lead brand strategy and corporate communications as Zong expands its 5G network across 21 cities nationwide following its March 2026 commercial launch.

Mirza previously held senior leadership positions at HBL Microfinance Bank, FINCA Microfinance Bank, Telenor Pakistan, and Warid Telecom. Her career spans integrated communications, corporate sustainability, reputation management, and purpose-led brand strategy. Industry observers noted Mirza’s extensive background in telecom positions her to navigate Zong’s transformation from traditional mobile operator to digital services provider.

Zong 5G tasked Mirza with leading corporate brand strategy, strengthening internal and external communications, and supporting the company’s vision of building a future-ready premium brand presence in Pakistan’s evolving digital landscape. The role includes overseeing sustainability initiatives as Zong deploys over 1,000 5G sites nationwide in 2026. Mirza will report directly to Zong’s executive leadership team while coordinating cross-functional brand initiatives.

Mirza brings proven expertise in brand transformation initiatives developed across Pakistan’s telecom sector. Her tenure at Telenor Pakistan and Warid Telecom provided experience managing brand evolution during periods of technological transition and market consolidation. Financial services experience at HBL Microfinance Bank and FINCA Microfinance Bank added skills in purpose-driven brand positioning and stakeholder engagement across diverse consumer segments.

The appointment comes as Zong positions itself as Pakistan’s premium 5G network operator following its commercial launch across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, and 15 additional cities in March 2026. Zong acquired 110 megahertz of spectrum in the 2026 NGMS 5G Auction and demonstrated trial speeds exceeding 1.4 gigabits per second. The company recently opened Pakistan’s first 5G facilitation kiosk at Islamabad International Airport in collaboration with Pakistan Airports Authority.
