Detailed Report
Pakistan International Airlines will resume flight operations to the Sultanate of Oman starting next week, according to the Pakistani embassy in Muscat.
In a statement shared on X, the embassy informed the Pakistani community in Oman that the airline will restart operations from May 13.
Under the announced schedule, PIA will operate five weekly flights connecting Muscat with Islamabad, Lahore, and Multan.
Flights between Muscat and Lahore will operate every Tuesday and Thursday, Muscat-Multan flights will run every Wednesday and Saturday, while Muscat-Islamabad flights will operate every Friday.
PIA had suspended flights to China, Malaysia, and several Gulf countries in early April due to rising jet fuel prices. However, operations to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates continued during the suspension period.
Earlier this week, the national carrier also announced the discontinuation of fare discounts previously offered to students, bankers, senior citizens, journalists, retired military personnel, and Airport Security Force personnel because of increasing fuel costs.
According to PIA, only children and newborns will continue to receive discounted fares.
