Punjab Orders Strict Action Against Unregistered Schools

The Punjab School Education Department has decided to tighten enforcement measures to ensure the registration of private schools across the province, directing authorities to take legal action and impose fines on unregistered institutions.

According to officials, a special letter has been issued to all deputy commissioners and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) Education, seeking complete details of registered and unregistered schools in their respective districts.

The department has instructed local authorities to submit a full compliance report within seven days. Officials have also been asked to provide details regarding recoveries and penalties imposed on unregistered schools.

In a major safety-related development, the department has made building fitness certificates mandatory for both public and private schools to ensure compliance with safety standards and improve student security.

All educational institutions have been directed to obtain building fitness certificates from the Communication and Works (C&W) Department.

The School Education Department stated that strict implementation of registration, safety, and other regulatory requirements will be ensured across Punjab, warning that institutions violating the rules will face strict action.
