Detailed Report
The Excise Department has decided to collect token tax and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) challans through the traffic police under a new digital system aimed at improving transparency and convenience for citizens.
Officials said the “One App” platform will now allow users to pay traffic fines, token taxes, and other government dues through a single system. The service will be implemented across Punjab in phases starting next week.
DIG Traffic Waqas Nazir said the app integrates data from nine government departments. Citizens can check all pending dues by entering a vehicle number or uploading an image of the number plate.
He added that the app has already been used successfully for digital traffic challans over the past two months and is now being expanded for additional government payments.
Under the new system, payments made through the PSID mechanism will be transferred directly into the accounts of the relevant departments, ensuring faster processing and greater transparency.
Authorities said more government departments will be connected to the platform in the next phase, allowing citizens to access all vehicle-related payments and information through one digital portal.
