The Intermediate Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) released new nationwide data today, May 6, 2026. This data reveals a highly concerning statistic. More than 400,000 students failed their intermediate exams in 2025. Overall, the latest IBCC data highlights the academic performance of students across the country. Furthermore, it categorizes the results by province and specific educational boards.
Punjab province reported the highest number of failing students nationwide. Specifically, nine educational boards conducted exams in this region. Consequently, 759,431 students appeared for these exams. Out of this massive group, 270,068 students failed to pass.

Additionally, the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) released its official figures. The federal board reported 17,319 failures out of the 100,993 students who appeared.
