Pakistan to Host England and Sri Lanka in Tri-Nation ODI Series

Pakistan is set to host a tri-nation One Day International (ODI) series featuring England and Sri Lanka later this year, with all three cricket boards confirming their participation.

Sources revealed that the series is likely to take place during October and November in Pakistan. Arrangements for the tournament are currently being finalized, while discussions regarding venues are still underway.

Once the venues are confirmed, the proposed schedule will be shared with the respective cricket boards before a formal announcement is made following mutual consultation.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed its participation during Sri Lanka’s upcoming tour of Pakistan, while England has also formally agreed to play the series following discussions with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is organizing the tournament as part of its ongoing efforts to bring leading international teams back to the country for major limited-overs competitions.

Before the ODI tri-series begins, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are also scheduled to play three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and a two-match Test series as part of the ICC World Test Championship under the Future Tours Programme (FTP).

It is pertinent to mention that last year, the Green Shirts participated in two T20I tri-series, first in the UAE alongside Afghanistan, and later at home featuring Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.

Pakistan won the first tri-series hosted in the UAE after defeating Afghanistan in the final on August 29, 2025. They then secured their second shorter-format tri-series title on home soil by beating Sri Lanka in the final in Rawalpindi on November 29.

Currently, Pakistan is preparing for a two-match Test series against Bangladesh in the ICC World Test Championship 2025–27 cycle. The first Test will be played at the Shere-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium from May 8 to 12, while the second match is scheduled in Sylhet from May 16 to 20.
