Detailed Report
The Punjab Education Management Authority (PIMA) has launched a province-wide physical verification drive in its schools to curb fake student enrollments and ensure accurate records.
According to officials, the verification process will run from May 4 to May 21, during which the presence of students enrolled in each school will be physically checked. The initiative aims to eliminate fictitious or paper enrollments and confirm the actual number of students in schools.
PIMA has made it mandatory to conduct student verification twice a year, in May and October, with the process to be carried out in line with data recorded in the School Information System to identify any discrepancies.
All Assistant Education Officers (AEOs) and District Education Officers (DEOs) have been directed to ensure strict implementation of the verification process across the province.
Officials have also been instructed to submit detailed reports to the education department after completion of the exercise. PIMA warned that strict departmental action will be taken against schools where fake enrollments are found, terming the move a step toward improving transparency and accountability in the education system.
