Windows 11 Continues to Gain Users as Linux Falls Behind on Steam

Valve has released the results of its latest Steam Hardware and Software Survey, showing continued growth for Windows 11 in April.
Windows 11 increased its share from 66.65% in March to 67.74% in April, reflecting a 0.89% gain. Windows 10 also recorded a smaller increase, rising from 25.36% to 25.63%, a 0.27% improvement.
Windows 7 remains at a minimal 0.07%, while Windows overall accounts for 93.47% of the Steam user base.
Linux had previously crossed the 5% mark in March but dropped to 4.52% in April.
On the hardware side, 16GB of RAM remains the most common configuration, used by 40.86% of Steam users. The 32GB segment also grew by 0.93%, reaching 37.55%.
Among graphics cards, the RTX 3060 continues to hold the largest share. Across users, 8GB of VRAM remains the most widely used configuration. Valve said more details about the survey are available on the official website.
