Detailed Report
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed prize structure for franchises ahead of Sunday’s 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) title clash between Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen.
For the first time in the league’s history, franchises will receive separate prize money. Under the new system, the winning franchise will pocket $500,000, while the runners-up will receive $300,000.
The PCB has also set aside $200,000 for the franchise judged to have the best player development program. On top of that, players of the title-winning team will share a separate $500,000 prize pool.
That takes the overall prize money linked to the final and franchise awards to $1.5 million.
The board said the new reward model is part of broader efforts to strengthen the league and give franchises a bigger financial incentive beyond on-field success. The plan was first announced by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi last year.
As for the match, Peshawar Zalmi will be aiming to win the title after returning to the final for the first time in four years.
Hyderabad Kingsmen, meanwhile, have emerged as the surprise package of the tournament. After finishing fourth in the league stage, they knocked out Multan Sultans and Islamabad United in back-to-back eliminators to reach the final in their debut season.
The two teams have already met once this season, with Zalmi winning a last-ball thriller by four wickets.
