Detailed Report
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has announced the closure of admissions for the academic session 2025-2026, effective April 15, 2026.
In a notification, the council directed all recognized medical and dental colleges not to grant admissions after the deadline. The council said students admitted after April 15 will not be registered under any circumstances.
It said any admission granted beyond the cutoff date will be treated as a violation of the PM&DC Act, 2022, and relevant regulations governing undergraduate medical and dental education.
The council added that such students will not be issued registration numbers, effectively rendering their admissions invalid. The directive, approved by the competent authority, is binding on all institutions and admitting universities across the country.
The PM&DC urged institutions to ensure compliance with the rules to maintain transparency, merit, and standardization in medical and dental education.
