Detailed Report
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will digitize its entire record within 120 days under a new reform initiative aimed at improving transparency, speeding up processes, and enhancing public service delivery in Islamabad.
The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, where officials agreed to accelerate digitization efforts to allow citizens to track the status of their applications and reduce delays linked to manual procedures.
Naqvi said the move would modernize administrative operations and strengthen transparency across the authority. He also reiterated that no illegal housing society would be allowed to operate in Islamabad, warning of strict action against unauthorized developments.
Officials told the meeting that pre-qualification of three international companies has been completed for the construction of a new Convention Center, Expo Center, and Islamabad Arena. The interior minister directed authorities to complete work on these projects before the upcoming SCO Summit.
The meeting also decided to allocate land for a Khidmat Markaz in Sector F-6, while directions were issued to begin work on new recreational projects, including Top Golf, hot air balloon facilities, zip line attractions, a water park, and an amusement park.
Naqvi also sought a comprehensive development plan for Fatima Jinnah Park modeled on Hyde Park, along with plans to introduce recreational facilities near Shahdara Dam.
He further ordered immediate work on beautification and lighting along Islamabad Expressway and Club Road and praised CDA officials for uncovering a corruption scandal within the authority, warning that no one involved in corruption would receive concessions.
CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf informed the meeting that construction of the Expressway service road will begin after approval from the Planning Division.
