Valve Unveils New $99 Steam Controller: Release Date & Specs Confirmed

Valve has finally revealed its next major hardware venture. The company announced a brand new Steam Controller designed for living room gaming. Fans can purchase the gamepad starting May 4 at 10:00 AM PST / 10:00 PM PKT. It costs $99 in the US and £85 in the UK. This price places the device firmly between standard console pads and expensive elite models. Valve intends to bring high-end PC experiences to a wider audience. The new Steam Controller boasts a massive leap in build quality. Specifically, Valve included next-generation magnetic thumbsticks utilizing TMR technology.
