Detailed Report
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has granted permission for cricket fans to attend the Pakistan Super League 2026 (PSL) final, ending a tournament-wide spectator ban that had been in place.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the decision on Saturday, saying he had personally requested the prime minister to allow spectators back into stadiums.
The Pakistan Cricket Board announced that online ticket sales for the PSL final will begin on Monday, April 27, with physical sales starting the following day.
Physical tickets will be available through 18 designated courier company outlets across the country, as specified by the PCB in its official distribution plan.
Ticket prices vary by enclosure and have been set in a range starting from Rs1,500 and going up to Rs12,000 for premium seating areas for the final encounter.
Cricket fans planning to attend the final on May 3 have been advised by the PCB to arrive at the venue no later than 6:30 in the evening.
All PSL 2026 matches had been played without spectators since the tournament began, due to government austerity measures and ongoing security concerns.
Interior Minister Naqvi noted that austerity measures remain in force nationally, with the government focused on cutting fuel and operational costs across public events.
The ban had also been linked to a sensitive diplomatic environment, with security authorities prioritising safety protocols throughout the duration of the tournament.
Despite those conditions remaining in place, Prime Minister Sharif approved the exception for the final match, responding to the interior minister’s direct request.
