Detailed Report
MG Motor Pakistan has launched the second-generation MG HS and announced its price and booking details at an event held today.
The new model is based on the latest global generation introduced in 2024 and will be available in Pakistan with two hybrid powertrains. These include a conventional hybrid, marketed as Hybrid+, and a plug-in hybrid variant branded as Super Hybrid.
The launch comes as demand for crossover SUVs and hybrid vehicles continues to grow in Pakistan, with increasing competition in the segment. The plug-in hybrid variant of the MG HS will compete with models such as the Jaecoo J7 PHEV, Chery Tiggo 8 PHEV, and Haval H6 PHEV.
Meanwhile, the hybrid variant will rival the Kia Sportage L HEV, Haval H6 HEV, and Hyundai Tucson HEV.
MG Motor Pakistan has announced the price and opened bookings for the second-generation MG HS.
The vehicle is available in two hybrid variants:
1: MG HS Hybrid+ — Rs. 9,499,000 2: MG HS Super Hybrid — Rs. 10,199,000
The booking amount has been set at Rs. 1,500,000, while deliveries are expected to begin from June.
The Hybrid+ variant is a self-charging hybrid that uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor and a 1.83 kWh battery. It does not require external charging and is aimed at fuel efficiency, with an estimated urban consumption of around 4.2 litres per 100 km.
The Super Hybrid variant is a plug-in hybrid that features a larger 24.7 kWh battery (global specification), allowing it to be charged externally and driven on electricity for short distances. It offers an electric-only range of over 50 km and produces a combined output of up to 209 kW with 480 Nm of torque.
