Punjab Govt Launches E-Bike Scheme for Teachers with Subsidy and Easy Installments

The Punjab government has announced a new initiative to provide electric bikes to teachers across the province under the Chief Minister’s E-Bike Scheme, aimed at improving mobility and easing transportation challenges for educators.

According to details, applications for the scheme will be invited soon through the Punjab Teachers Foundation website. Eligible teachers will be able to apply online by submitting required documents, including a Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC), service certificate, driving licence, and a passport-size photograph.

Officials said the price of e-bikes under the scheme will range between Rs200,000 and Rs250,000. The provincial government will offer a subsidy of 30 to 40 percent on each bike, while the remaining amount can be paid through easy instalments over two to three years.

Monthly instalments are expected to range from Rs3,600 to Rs4,200, making the scheme accessible for teachers seeking affordable transport options.

After submitting applications online, candidates will receive confirmation through message or email, while attested receipts for the bikes can also be downloaded through the application portal.

The initiative is part of broader efforts by the Punjab government to support teachers through practical welfare measures while promoting the adoption of environmentally friendly transport solutions.
