Chashma Sugar Mills Expands With New Ethanol Plant Upgrade

Chashma Sugar Mills Limited has initiated the modernization of its plant and machinery along with the installation of molecular sieves at its ethanol fuel plant, located in Ramak, Dera Ismail Khan, according to a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

As stated in the disclosure, the upgrade is part of the company’s growth-oriented strategy and expansion plans aimed at improving operational efficiency.

The modernization is being carried out at CSM Unit-II in Ramak, where the company is enhancing its existing infrastructure to align with evolving industry requirements.

Details in the disclosure confirm that the initiative includes technological upgrades and process improvements, particularly in the ethanol segment.

The company said the move reflects its long-term focus on strengthening production capabilities and supporting future growth.

Companies like JDW and others have launched or scaled ethanol projects. While players such as UNICOL (Joint Venture between Faraan Sugar Mills, Mehran Sugar MIlls and Mirpurkhas Sugar Mills) and others already operate export-focused distilleries supplying international markets.

Ethanol has become a key export product and a potential alternative fuel for blending with gasoline, aligning with global clean energy trends.
