Detailed Report
Shipping activity in Pakistan remains largely uninterrupted despite rising tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, with oil tankers continuing to arrive and discharge fuel supplies at Karachi port.
A tanker operated by Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, MT Sargodha, has already offloaded crude oil brought from Fujairah, while more vessels are expected to dock in the coming days to maintain supply flows.
However, officials note that while crude shipments are continuing, some LNG cargoes remain stuck due to the evolving situation in the region, which could pose risks for the energy mix in the coming weeks if delays persist.
Among the incoming shipments, MT Shalimar and MT Lahore are scheduled to berth carrying crude oil, ensuring continued inflows at a time when global shipping routes are under pressure.
At the same time, outbound and mixed cargo activity at the port has remained active. MT Martini is expected to load locally produced fuel oil, while other vessels such as MT Hafnia Henriette and MT Wan HE have handled naphtha and ethanol shipments. Another vessel, MT Eva Gold, has already departed after loading ethanol.
Port operations data shows strong overall activity, with more than 60,000 tonnes of containerised cargo handled, alongside bulk shipments including soya bean meal imports and rice exports. In total, cargo handling has remained close to 80,000 tonnes, with nearly 19 ships scheduled to berth.
