PSL 2026: Babar Azam Sets Unique T20 Record

Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam faced only one dot ball during his 52-ball innings against Quetta Gladiators in the PSL 11 match, setting a unique record in global T20 cricket history.

According to official stats, across more than 3,000 innings of fifty or more balls in T20 matches worldwide, no batter has previously recorded as few as one dot ball.

This statistical achievement highlights his extraordinary strike rotation, unmatched in the extensive ball-by-ball database covering professional T20 cricket across multiple leagues and competitions.

Peshawar Zalmi posted 255 for three against Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League, powered by an unbeaten century by Babar Azam and a rapid half-century from Kusal Mendis.

Quetta Gladiators captain Saud Shakeel chose to field first, but Zalmi’s batting dominance produced a century partnership between Babar Azam and Kusal Mendis, securing commanding control.

Mohammad Haris contributed a quick cameo before Alzarri Joseph dismissed him, while Mendis and Babar combined for 135 runs, both registering their third half-centuries of PSL 11.

Usman Tariq dismissed Mendis for 83, but Babar continued with Farhan Yousaf and Aaron Hardie, adding crucial partnerships to strengthen Zalmi’s commanding total.

Babar Azam completed his third PSL century on the final delivery, finishing unbeaten on 100 from 52 balls, including six fours and four sixes.

Aaron Hardie supported with 26 runs from ten balls, while Abrar Ahmed, Alzarri Joseph, and Usman Tariq claimed one wicket each for Quetta Gladiators.
