The Government of Sindh has launched the People’s Bus Service between Shikarpur and Sukkur.
Senior minister Sharjeel Inam Memon inaugurated the service and said it has been introduced for public use, adding that commuters should take care of the facility.
He stated that the fare will be shared, with the provincial government covering half the cost and passengers paying the remaining amount.
During the ceremony, Memon referred to various initiatives of the Pakistan Peoples Party, including transport, subsidy, and agriculture-related measures.
He said the government had introduced financial support for motorcyclists following increases in petroleum prices and provided subsidies to farmers, including assistance for fertilizers and threshing.
The minister also said development work is ongoing in different parts of Sindh, including Shikarpur, and mentioned initiatives such as solar panel distribution and transport schemes for women.
The People’s Bus Service is part of efforts to improve public transport connectivity in the region.
