Detailed Report
Intel has introduced its new Core Series 3 processors, targeting lower-cost laptops for consumers and small businesses on longer upgrade cycles. The new chips follow the recent release of Intel’s higher-end Core Ultra Series 3 processors, codenamed Panther Lake.
Unlike the Ultra lineup, the Core Series 3 processors are designed for more affordable notebooks. Intel said the chips are aimed at users and businesses that typically replace PCs every five years.
According to Intel, the new processors deliver major gains compared with a five-year-old PC powered by the Core i7-1185G7.
The company claims up to 47% better single-thread performance, up to 41% better multi-thread performance, and up to 2.8 times better GPU AI performance.
The Core Series 3 lineup is built on Intel’s 18A manufacturing process.
Intel described the node as its most advanced logic process developed and produced in the US.
Intel said the new chips are its first hybrid AI-ready Core Series processors, supporting AI workloads of up to 40 platform TOPS.
The processors also support up to two Thunderbolt 4 ports, Bluetooth 6, and Wi-Fi 7.
Intel said the chips are designed for all-day battery life, with up to 64% lower processor power compared with the previous-generation Core 7 150U.
The lineup includes the following models:
All models include 6MB Smart Cache. Most chips use six cores, while the Core 3 304 uses five. They support LPDDR5/LPDDR5X 7467 memory up to 48GB and DDR5 6400 memory up to 64GB. Base power is rated at 15W, while turbo power reaches 35W across the lineup.
Intel said the processors are launching immediately in more than 70 laptop designs from brands including Acer, Asus, Dell, Honor, HP, Lenovo, MSI, Samsung, and others.
