Anthropic Launches Claude Design for Rapid Prototyping and Visual Work

Anthropic has introduced Claude Design, a new tool aimed at helping users quickly create visual prototypes, presentations, and design assets without requiring a traditional design background.

Currently available in research preview, the tool is accessible to subscribers of Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans, and is part of the company’s experimental Anthropic Labs initiative.

Unlike typical image generators, Claude Design functions as a visual prototyping assistant. Users can describe their ideas in natural language, and the system generates an initial design that can be refined through conversation, inline feedback, or manual edits.

The tool is powered by Claude Opus 4.7, which offers enhanced visual intelligence and improved performance in coding and multi-step workflows.

Claude Design also introduces interactive controls such as auto-generated sliders that allow users to adjust layout, colors, and spacing in real time.

For organizations, Claude Design can integrate with existing codebases and design files to automatically generate custom design systems. This ensures that all outputs follow company branding, including typography, color schemes, and UI components.

Completed designs can be exported in formats such as PDF, PPTX, or standalone HTML, or shared via internal links. Users can also transfer projects directly to Canva for further editing and collaboration.

Anthropic emphasized that Claude Design complements rather than competes with Canva focusing on rapid idea-to-visual creation, while Canva remains a platform for polishing and teamwork.

The launch reflects Anthropic’s broader strategy to expand into enterprise-focused AI tools. Earlier this year, the company introduced “Claude Cowork,” an assistant designed to handle complex workplace tasks and automate workflows.

With Claude Design, Anthropic continues to prioritize practical, business-oriented applications such as presentations, wireframes, and prototypes, rather than open-ended creative content generation.

Anthropic plans to expand integrations for Claude Design in the coming weeks, allowing teams to connect it with more workplace tools. For enterprise users, the feature is disabled by default and must be activated by administrators.

The rollout is gradual, with access included in existing subscription plans. Users can try the tool through Claude’s platform as the company continues to refine its capabilities.

The launch also comes amid reports that investors have shown strong interest in Anthropic, potentially valuing the company at levels comparable to its key rival, OpenAI, although no deal has been finalized.
