Karachi Kings Edge Lahore Qalandars in Low-Scoring PSL 11 Thriller

Karachi Kings pulled off a tense four-wicket win over defending champions Lahore Qalandars in a low-scoring encounter during the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) at Gaddafi Stadium.

Chasing a modest target of 129, Karachi got over the line in 19.3 overs, thanks to a dramatic finish led by Abbas Afridi.

The match went down to the final over, where Karachi needed just nine runs after a penalty was imposed on Lahore for an alleged ball-tampering offense. With the pressure mounting, Abbas Afridi stepped up and finished the game in style, smashing a boundary followed by a six to seal the win with two balls to spare.

Earlier, the Kings struggled in the chase despite small contributions across the batting lineup. Muhammad Waseem was the only batter to cross the 20-run mark, while the rest chipped in with minor but crucial partnerships to keep the chase alive.

Lahore’s bowling attack kept things tight throughout. Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi led from the front with a four-wicket haul, removing key batters including David Warner, Salman Ali Agha, Waseem, and Moeen Ali to keep the contest evenly poised.

Before that, Karachi’s bowlers had done well to restrict Lahore to 128/9 after being put in to bat. Adam Zampa stood out with an economical spell, while Mir Hamza and Moeen Ali also picked up key wickets.

For Lahore, Abdullah Shafique top-scored with a steady 33, while Haseebullah Khan and Sikandar Raza added some resistance in the middle overs.

A crucial moment came late in the chase when Khushdil Shah was dismissed near the boundary, but Abbas Afridi ensured Karachi didn’t lose control, delivering a match-winning cameo under pressure.

With this result, Karachi Kings extended their head-to-head advantage over Lahore Qalandars, making it another memorable contest in the PSL rivalry.
