Multan Sultans Cruise Past Islamabad United in PSL 11 Clash

Multan Sultans registered a comfortable five-wicket win over Islamabad United in the fourth match of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Chasing a target of 172, Multan completed the run chase with eight balls to spare, thanks to a match-winning knock from Josh Philippe.

The Sultans had an early setback as opener Sahibzada Farhan departed cheaply, but Philippe steadied the innings with a crucial partnership alongside Steve Smith, who contributed 31 on his PSL debut.

After Smith’s dismissal, Islamabad fought back with quick wickets, including captain Shadab Khan removing Shan Masood to leave Multan under pressure.

Philippe then took control of the chase, stitching a decisive 61-run stand with skipper Ashton Turner. The wicketkeeper-batter top-scored with a fluent 55, setting the platform for a smooth finish.

Turner anchored the innings till the end with an unbeaten 43, while Arafat Minhas provided a quick late boost with an aggressive cameo to keep the momentum intact.

Earlier, Islamabad United posted 171/8 after being put in to bat. Mark Chapman led the scoring with a brisk 40, while contributions from Devon Conway and Faheem Ashraf helped push the total to a competitive level.

However, Multan’s bowling unit kept things in check throughout. Momin Qamar was the standout performer with three wickets, while Mohammad Wasim Jr chipped in with two.

With this win, Multan Sultans continue their strong start to PSL 11, combining disciplined bowling with a clinical run chase.
