IPL 2026 Opens Today as RCB Face SRH in High-Stakes Bengaluru Clash

The Indian Premier League returns today with a high-voltage clash as Royal Challengers Bengaluru take on Sunrisers Hyderabad. The opening match of IPL 2026 will be played today, Saturday, March 28, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. For fans in Pakistan, the action begins at 7:00 PM.

Defending champions RCB begin their campaign at home. They face a strong SRH side that also aims to lift the trophy this season. Both teams bring exciting talent, but early injuries have forced changes.

RCB will miss key pacers at the start. Captain Rajat Patidar leads a squad without Josh Hazlewood, who is recovering from hamstring and Achilles issues. He will sit out the early matches. Meanwhile, Yash Dayal is unavailable for the entire season due to personal reasons.

As a result, the bowling attack depends on experienced names like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and overseas option Jacob Duffy. In batting, Phil Salt adds firepower at the top alongside Virat Kohli.
