PMD Predicts Heavy Rain Spell Across Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted a fresh spell of rain across multiple regions of Pakistan, starting today.
According to the weather department, rainfall is expected in major cities of Punjab, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sialkot, Multan, and Faisalabad. Other districts such as Kasur, Okara, Narowal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Rahim Yar Khan are also likely to receive rain.
Rain-bearing clouds are also expected to impact parts of Balochistan, while the wet spell is forecast to continue across the country until March 30.
The PMD further stated that several districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may experience strong winds and thunderstorms over the next two days. Rainfall intensity is expected to increase between March 28 and 30.
In northern areas, snowfall is likely in Gilgit-Baltistan, while some parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could also witness hailstorms during this period.
Meanwhile, rain is also expected across Sindh, including Karachi, Sukkur, Dadu, Larkana, and Jacobabad. Karachi is likely to receive rain accompanied by strong winds and dust storms tomorrow.
On the other hand, the National Disaster Management Authority has issued an alert in view of the expected weather conditions. Authorities have warned that snowfall in mountainous regions could disrupt traffic flow and create travel difficulties.
