Pakistan Extends Airspace Ban on Indian Flights Till April 24

Pakistan has extended its airspace ban on Indian aircraft until April 24, according to a fresh aviation notice issued on Wednesday. The decision means Indian airlines will continue to avoid Pakistani skies for over another month, affecting flight routes and travel time.

The restriction applies to all aircraft registered in India, as well as those operated, owned, or leased by Indian airlines. It also includes Indian military flights. The latest Notice to Airmen (Notam) replaces the previous one that was due to expire on March 23.

Officials confirmed that the ban covers both of Pakistan’s major flight information regions Karachi and Lahore meaning Indian aircraft cannot pass through any part of the country’s controlled airspace.

Pakistan airspace will remain closed to Indian-registered aircraft and those operated, owned, or leased by Indian airlines/operators, including military flights, until early hours of 24 April 2026. #PAA

There has been no official indication from either side on when the restrictions might be lifted, suggesting that aviation ties remain closely tied to the broader political climate.
