Detailed Report
Punjab Minister for Transport and Mass Transit Bilal Akbar Khan said the electric bus service in Attock will begin in April, with routes and initial operations already planned.
He said the service will start with 15 green buses operating on routes linking Attock with Hazro, Attock Khurd, Haji Shah and Fateh Jang, while additional routes will be introduced in later phases.
The buses will run on a hybrid system and each vehicle is expected to cover around 300 kilometres daily, with charging supported through both electricity and solar power.
The minister said Attock will receive more buses in the next phase, adding that the service will gradually expand to other tehsils, including underdeveloped areas.
He said the initiative is part of the provincial government’s plan to provide affordable and modern transport facilities to the public.
