Pakistan to Buy 30 Armored Cars for SCO Summit 2027

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the federal cabinet on Monday approved Rs. 6.6 billion for 30 bulletproof vehicles for the 2027 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.
The amount is nearly 48 percent lower than the Rs. 12.6 billion requested by the Cabinet Division.
The committee approved the reduced amount after reviewing the proposal for vehicles to be used for the movement of heads of state during the SCO Summit, which Pakistan will host in September 2027.
The committee directed the Cabinet Division to conduct a detailed assessment before seeking funds for any additional vehicles and to submit a fresh proposal if required.
