Jaecoo J5 Gets Massive Price Increase in Pakistan

Nexgen Auto Pvt. Ltd. has increased the prices of its two Jaecoo J5 variants following the government’s increase in the sales tax rate on hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) to 25%.
According to Nexgen’s latest circular, the Jaecoo J5 Comfort now costs Rs. 7,799,000, up from Rs. 6,699,000, marking an increase of Rs. 1,100,000. The Jaecoo J5 Premium is now priced at Rs. 8,799,000, compared with its previous price of Rs. 7,699,000, also reflecting an increase of Rs. 1,100,000.
Meanwhile, the Jaecoo J7 Premium remains unchanged at Rs. 10,499,000. Nexgen said the revised prices apply following the 25% sales tax rate on HEVs and PHEVs, effective July 1, 2026
The price increases come after similar moves by other automakers. Indus Motor Company raised the prices of two Toyota Corolla Cross HEV variants by Rs. 1,364,000 and Rs. 1,314,000, respectively, while Honda Atlas Cars Limited increased the price of its HR-V e:HEV by Rs. 1,370,000.
